Job summary

Holmesglen Institute is a leading government-owned provider in Victoria, delivering 600+ courses with strong industry partnerships. We are seeking a Koorie Student Support Officer to provide culturally safe, personalised support to First Nations students across our campuses.

You will work with staff to enhance attendance, wellbeing and academic success, while delivering tailored guidance and referrals. You will collaborate with Student Engagement & Equity and Student Wellbeing to ensure

Qualifications

• Qualified in Education Support, Disability or Community Services or equivalent; relevant experience may be accepted.
• Demonstrated empathy and cultural understanding with First Nations communities.
• Ability to provide guidance, wellbeing services and tailored student support.
• Knowledge of ethical practices and case management in a student support context.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial contact to Koorie/First Nations students and connect them with the Koorie Team.
• Develop Individual Learning Support Plans and identify student needs and interventions.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to improve understanding of Koorie issues and cultural awareness.
• Deliver culturally specific advice and innovative support services with Student Engagement & Equity and Student Wellbeing.
• Coordinate and lead social events with the Koorie Liaison Officer to promote campus life.
• Contribute to case management, referrals and community connections to support positive outcomes.
