Job summary

Delaware North Australia is seeking a casual Kitchenhand at Adelaide Airport to join our fast-paced kitchen team. You will help with sandwich preparation and broader kitchen operations while maintaining cleanliness, order, and efficiency in the back of house.

Ideal candidates will have a Food Safety Certificate, enjoy a high-energy environment, and be able to work a 7-day rotating roster. This role offers opportunities for development across our global network of resorts, airports and stadiums.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area
• Conduct temperature checks and prevent cross-contamination to meet WHS and Food Safety standards
• Support the kitchen team to keep an organized, efficient workspace
• Perform cleaning duties including washing dishes, disposal, and operating the dishwasher
• Assist with food preparation and presentation in a fast-paced kitchen

The opportunity

Delaware North Australia is hiring a casual Kitchenhand to join our team at Adelaide Airport. This role combines the responsibilities of both a Sandwich Hand and a Kitchenhand, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and enjoys variety in their day-to-day tasks.

You'll be crafting an array of fresh sandwiches while also supporting broader kitchen operations - ensuring cleanliness, order, and efficiency in the back of house.

What you will do?

• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
• Conduct temperature and quality checks, effectively managing cross-contamination to ensure WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards
• Support kitchen team members in establishing and sustaining an organised and efficient workspace
• Take on hands-on cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, waste disposal and management, operating a commercial dishwasher, and handling cleaning chemicals
• Execute food preparation tasks within a commercial kitchen environment, showcasing excellent food presentation skills

More about you

• Previous experience in a sandwich hand or kitchenhand
• Food Safety Certificate
• Passion and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster
