Job summary

Verandah Precint is seeking a reliable kitchen assistant to support daily operations, keeping the kitchen clean and organized and helping with basic food preparation. You will receive deliveries, store them correctly, and maintain hygiene across coolrooms and workstations.

A genuine team player who can adapt to busy periods is required. No prior kitchen experience is necessary as training will be provided and you will join a supportive, experienced kitchen team with perks and growth

Qualifications

• Reliable and proactive candidate.
• Calm and efficient under busy service.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
• Team player willing to pitch in wherever needed.
• Flexibility to work across trading days.
• Current Food Handling certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• No kitchen experience required—the team will teach you.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning during service.
• Assist with basic food preparation as directed by kitchen team.
• Receive, check and store deliveries correctly.
• Maintain cleanliness of coolrooms, storage areas and workstations to food safety standards.
• Manage rubbish and recycling and keep the kitchen presentable at all times.
• Support the team during busy service periods.
