Job summary

MindChamps Albion Park is seeking a reliable Kitchen Hand to support the Centre Chef in daily kitchen operations. You will help with preparation, hygiene, cleaning and safe storage to ensure nutritious meals for children.

You will contribute to a clean, well‑organised kitchen and collaborate with educators and staff to meet NSW food safety practices and MindChamps policies. Join a 105‑place centre and grow with a global early learning organisation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality, childcare, aged care, or similar environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organisation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
• A current NSW Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
• A genuine interest in supporting children's health, wellbeing and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Centre Chef with daily food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Assist with preparing fresh and nutritious meals and snacks for children.
• Wash dishes, utensils, equipment, and kitchen items.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety throughout the kitchen.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, floors, equipment, and storage areas.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organising food and kitchen supplies.
• Help maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure food is stored correctly.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, allergy, and dietary requirement procedures.
• Support the Centre Chef with the smooth and timely preparation and service of meals.
• Ensure the kitchen is kept organised, safe, and ready for daily operations.
• Follow MindChamps policies, procedures, and NSW food safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the Centre Chef, educators, and wider centre team.
