Job summary

Only About Children Bridgeman Downs is seeking a Kitchenhand to support preparation and delivery of fresh meals for children aged 0 to 5, while ensuring safety and dietary needs are met. You’ll work closely with the Cook to maintain a clean kitchen and contribute to positive mealtime experiences.

You’ll bring food safety credentials, experience with batch cooking for many children, and a warm, flexible, team-focused attitude to help nourish young learners and support their wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Food safety supervisor certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Experience preparing meals for 50+ people daily.
• Knowledge of nutrition for children aged 0–5.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, allergies and dietary needs.
• Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail.
• Warm, flexible, team-focused approach.
• Current Working with Children Check and child protection clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or assist with fresh, nutritious meals and snacks.
• Adapt meals for allergies and cultural requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen per Campus Food Safety Plan.
• Label allergy variations clearly for safe service.
• Order, receive, store and rotate food safely.
• Collaborate with educators and families on children's food routines.
• Create positive, calm, inclusive mealtime experiences.
