Job summary

Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust is hiring a casual Kitchen Hand to support the kitchen, café, functions and staff cafeteria. The role requires weekend availability, manual handling, and a strong understanding of food hygiene in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will perform dishwashing and cleaning duties, maintain hygienic standards, and help ensure smooth kitchen operations in a beautiful Springvale location.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of food hygiene practices.
• Experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Clean all kitchen areas and manage dishwashing duties.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as directed.
• Provide a clean, hygienic environment for meal prep and service.
• Adhere to food safety guidelines and daily menu plans.
• Report any faulty equipment to Head Chef or manager-on-duty.
