SMCT in Melbourne is seeking a Kitchen Hand to support busy kitchen operations at a beautiful location. The casual role focuses on cleaning, dishwashing and helping with food preparation to maintain safe, hygienic standards.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will join a team that values people and reliable service, with weekend availability and the physical demands of handling repetitive lifting as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in hospitality.
• Capable of handling repetitive lifting and manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean all kitchen areas and dishwashing to maintain hygiene.
• Use cleaning products safely and effectively.
• Support cooks and ensure timely meal preparation.
• Empty bins and manage waste per SMCT guidelines.
• Report equipment issues to Head Chef or manager-on-duty.
