Job summary

Green Leaves Early Learning Centres Pty in Brisbane is seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Second Chef to support the Centre Chef in preparing nutritious meals and purees for babies and children, adhering to safety standards.

You will run culinary classes with educators, manage time, ensure food safety, and assist with dietary requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Food Safety Certificate.
• Current and State-relevant Working with Children's Check.
• Current Child Protection and National Child Safety Training Certificates.
• Current First Aid and CPR (HLTAID012).
• National Police Clearance obtained in the last 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Support Centre Chef in preparing nutritious meals and purees, respecting dietary requirements for babies and children.
• Provide culinary classes with Educators and Centre Chef.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
• Assist with daily kitchen operations and time management.

• Ensure the highest level of food safety by maintaining a clean and safe kitchen in accordance with the Food and Council Authority requirements and Green Leaves Early Learning Standards
• Combine your amazing time management and communication skills to support the kitchen in running each day smoothly.

About You:

• Current Food Safety Certificate
• Current and State-relevant Working with Children's Check
• Current Child Protection and National Child Safety Training Certificates
• Current First Aid and CPR (HLTAID012)
• National Police Clearance obtained in the last 6 months
• Availability to work 20-25 hours per week
• The willingness to step up into the Chef’s role when they are absent from the Centre from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
