Job summary

Bacchus Marsh Primary School is seeking an Education Support role to assist with the Kitchen Garden program, maintaining a welcoming, organised and safe environment for students, staff and volunteers.

This Education Support class position operates under supervision, following school policies and guidelines, and may include coordinating other staff within the area. The role supports educational services while not performing teaching duties as defined by policy.

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks, including coordinating and supporting others in respect to specific work functions relevant to the role.
• SC2 Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment.
• SC3 Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills.
• SC4 Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.

Responsibilities

• Volunteer & Class Support: Welcome and support volunteers, prepare ingredients and equipment for classes, and help sessions run smoothly.
• Stock & Dietary Requirements: Monitor ingredient supplies, maintain stock levels, organise orders and ensure food requirements and dietary needs are catered for.
• Kitchen Organisation & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and organisation across kitchen spaces, equipment and storage areas.
• Small Group Support: Work with and assist small groups of students to develop their knowledge, skill and understandings.
