Job summary

AKD Softwoods in Caboolture is seeking a Kilns & Boiler Supervisor to lead 24/7 timber production, focusing on safe, efficient operations and continuous improvement of kilns and boiler processes.

The successful candidate will bring mechanical expertise and strong leadership to coordinate the technical and people elements, ensuring compliance, teamwork, and performance across AKD's operations.

Qualifications

• Previous technical or mechanical experience is highly regarded.
• Boiler compliance to AS/NZ standards is highly regarded.
• Experience with Timber Drying quality is highly regarded.
• Leadership in a 24/7 operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Kilns & Boilers operations in a 24/7 timber production environment.
• Ensure safe and efficient production processes and compliance with safety standards.
• Drive continuous improvement of Kilns and Boiler processes and activities.
• Coordinate technical and people elements through AKD Operations Leadership Team.

Kilns & Boiler Supervisor (Timber Industry)

The role is to ensure Ensure a physically and psychologically safe, harm-free work environment, ensure safe and efficient production processes, and extract maximum efficiencies from teamwork and collaboration

We believe the position will best suit someone with a mechanical qualification and previous team leadership across 24/7 operation. The team member will have strong organisational and communication skills to effectively lead the technical and people elements.

• Safe and efficient production on a 24/7 basis, according to the Caboolture Operational Plan in so far as it applies to Kilns & Boilers

• Equipment, procedures, policies, systems and controls that support the Kilns and Boilers production process, function correctly and safely, enable consistency, and ensure that AKD meets its obligations.
• All reports have an up to date fit for purpose working knowledge, context and understanding of AKD's purpose, values, way of organizing, and expectations
• All employees meet legislated compliance training and are working towards 100% completion of internal compliance

Skills & experience:

• Previous technical or mechanical experience is highly regarded to be successful in this role.
• Boiler compliance to AS / NZ standard is highly regarded
• Previous exposure to Timber Drying Quality is highly regarded
