Job summary

Waverley Council is seeking a passionate leader to guide the Library Children and Young People team. The role is a permanent full-time position (35 hours per week) with a supportive culture and opportunities for professional development.

Based at Bondi Junction, you will lead programs for children and families, drive innovation, and build partnerships across the community while modelling inclusive, customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Studies or related area.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a children’s library setting.
• Demonstrated experience in children's programming/education.
• Strong digital literacy and ability to use library tech.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and delivery of innovative library services for children, teens and families.
• Lead and support a dynamic team delivering programs and services for children and young people.
• Drive service excellence through collaboration and community engagement.
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement within the library service.
• Build partnerships with community organisations to extend service reach.
• Foster an inclusive, customer-focused team culture.
