CVGT Employment is seeking an Employment Consultant (Karen Community Specialist) in Victoria for a fixed-term, part-time role (3 days a week) serving Karen-speaking participants. You will build trust, offer practical support, and connect clients with services to overcome barriers toward sustainable employment.

Advanced Karen and English are essential. Travel within the local service region may be required, and a National Police Check/ Working with Children Check is anticipated.

• Strong cultural understanding of the Karen community and its challenges.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with participants and employers.

Mansioni

• Build trusted relationships with participants from Karen backgrounds and provide personalised support.
• Explain services, workplace expectations and opportunities using Karen language and cultural understanding.
• Assist participants to prepare resumes, complete job applications, and build confidence for workplace success.
• Connect participants with training and community services to address barriers and improve outcomes.
• Work with local employers to identify job opportunities and advocate for participants.
• Provide ongoing support to participants and employers after employment starts to encourage long-term success.
• Maintain a caseload and accurate records while meeting program requirements.
