Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria in Geelong is seeking a Justice Officer, Grounds and Services to keep prison grounds, deliveries and daily services running safely. You will plan your work, maintain grounds and move items across the prison, while supporting meals, laundry, stores and minor maintenance tasks.

This is an ongoing, full-time role with a salary of $62,104 to $79,753 per year plus super. Experience in maintenance or logistics is desirable, as is a forklift licence.

What You Will Do

As Justice Officer, Grounds and Services, you will support daily prison services. You’ll plan your work, maintain grounds and move items across the prison.

You Will
  • care for tidy and safe grounds, including lawns, plants and walkways.
  • deliver items across the prison and keep to set schedules.
  • load, unload, check and operate light delivery vehicles safely.
  • help with meals, laundry, stores, property and minor maintenance tasks.
  • plan daily work so essential duties are completed on time.
About You

You must hold a current Victorian driver’s licence. Experience in maintenance or logistics is desirable, as is a forklift licence.

You Should Also Have
  • delivery and logistics experience and an understanding of how to move items safely.
  • maintenance experience and the ability to operate light machinery and vehicles.
  • good driving skills, with a clean driving record and a careful approach to safety.
  • flexibility and teamwork, with respect for people from different backgrounds.
