Job summary

Hatch, a leading fashion e‑commerce company in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician for its Fulfilment Centre in Sydney. On a rotating roster, you’ll perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, robots and packing equipment, respond to faults, and support safe, efficient warehouse operations.

Work with Automation Engineers, log work in CMMS, and contribute to continuous improvement through Kaizen, 5S and TPM.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Safety-focused with knowledge of safe isolation procedures desirable.
• Experience with CMMS and reading drawings desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on conveyors, robots, sorters and packing equipment.
• Respond to equipment faults, diagnose and repair.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and automated equipment issues.
• Assist with repairs involving PLC/HMI, VFDs, pneumatics, hydraulics.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders in CMMS.
• Coordinate with warehouse operations to minimise downtime.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in Kaizen, 5S and TPM continuous improvement initiatives.
