Job summary

Stawell Gold Mines seeks a motivated Graduate Mine Geologist to join the Geology team in Stawell, Victoria. Apply your geology degree to underground mapping, ore quality tracking and daily mining decisions.

The role offers exposure to the full mining cycle and collaboration with engineers, surveyors, drilling crews and operations personnel. Based in a residential mining operation, you will work under the supervision of the Geology Superintendent and develop practical skills in underground

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Geology required.
Understanding of mining, exploration and related geological activities.
Strong communication, computing and organisational skills.
Careful, accurate approach to collecting, recording and interpreting data.
Ability to work collaboratively and take responsibility in underground environment.

Responsibilities

Underground face, wall and backs mapping, sampling and geological interpretation.
Diamond drill core review, geological logging and data entry.
Drill site inspections, drill hole setup and deviation monitoring.
Development heading and stope inspections to support ore/waste allocation.
Daily and weekly reporting of production tonnes, grades and drilling progress.
Monthly mine-to-mill reconciliation and reporting support.
Photogrammetry modelling to support stope design checks.
