Job summary

Ormiston College invites applications for an EOI Trainee Teacher Internship in Junior School. The program provides embedded practice while you study, under supervision of the Head of School and teaching staff.

You must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching and be eligible for a Blue Card. Trainee teachers participate in classroom and pastoral activities and may assist with co-curricular programs.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching.
• Eligible to possess or possess a current Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment.

Responsibilities

• Be mentored by Ormiston College teachers to develop pastoral care, curriculum knowledge, classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Assist in the classroom and with general care and supervision of students under supervision.
• Expose to a range of areas, year levels and classes including sport, drama and music.
• Communicate with Head of School and classroom teacher throughout the program.
• Support the co-curricular program of the College.
• Demonstrate a professional approach to teaching and learning.
• Demonstrate commitment to professional behaviour as a member of the College.
• Participate in day-to-day life and activities of the College.
• From time-to-time undertake other duties as deemed necessary.
