Job summary

Ipswich Girls' Grammar School invites applications for Head of Teaching and Learning in the Junior School. The role provides strategic and operational leadership of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting for Pre-Prep to Year 6, with a focus on excellence, collaboration and evidence‑informed practice.

You will lead improvement across the Junior School, build staff capability, and drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated educational leadership or potential to lead teaching practice and improve learning outcomes.
  • Ability to lead, coach and support staff toward strategic priorities.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum development, implementation and review across Pre-Prep to Year 6 aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
  • Develop and deliver a school-based vision for curriculum, assessment and reporting with a review cycle.
  • Lead teachers through collaborative planning, professional learning, coaching and classroom support.
  • Lead moderation and analysis of assessment data to monitor outcomes and inform curriculum and interventions.
  • Support Heads of Department and collaborate to ensure differentiated and inclusive learning.
  • Communicate regularly with staff and parents about program offerings and student progress.
