Whitsunday Anglican School in Mackay, Australia is seeking enthusiastic Teacher Aides to join our Junior School team. You will work with classroom teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences, supporting students' learning, wellbeing and development.

These full-time, term-time roles run Monday to Friday, with 7:30 am–3:30 pm hours for one position, including Before School Care supervision. A collaborative, values-driven environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent is an essential qualification.
• Current First Aid and CPR qualifications are required.
• Experience as a Teacher Aide in a Junior School or Learning Support environment is highly desirable.
• Competent computer skills and ability to support students with classroom technology.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to use initiative and work independently with limited supervision.
• Understanding of confidentiality, discretion and professional boundaries.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Warm, patient and approachable manner with ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to students as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Assist with lesson preparation, including developing resources and organizing materials.
• Support students across the Junior School (Prep–Year 6), including those with diverse learning needs.
• Assist students with the use of laptops and other classroom technology.
• Maintain anecdotal records and observations to support student learning and development.
• Undertake timetabled playground supervision duties.
• Complete a range of scheduled responsibilities and general classroom support tasks.
• Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
