Job summary

Girton Grammar School in regional Victoria is seeking a Library Technician to join the Junior School Library team. This term-time-only role includes two weeks callback and focuses on helping students access resources, lending, cataloguing and maintaining the library space.

You will work closely with the Library Teacher, support reading programs and book clubs, and provide friendly, respectful service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• Library Technician qualification or relevant experience.
• Experience in a school or public library environment is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, staff and families.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and staff with locating and accessing resources.
• Manage lending and return of library resources.
• Catalogue, process and maintain library collections.
• Reshelve and maintain the library's presentation and organisation.
• Manage resource booking systems and inventories.
• Assist with book clubs, story time programs and reading challenges.
• Support students in a friendly, respectful and engaging manner.
• Provide administrative support, including enquiries and equipment maintenance.
