Job summary

GRACEMERE NEWS AND LPO in Gracemere is seeking a casual Junior Retail Assistant to join our newsagency team for the seasonal period. No experience is required as training will be provided.

You will be part of a small team, with shifts between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday, averaging 20–38 hours per week. Police checks and Golden Casket training are required.

This role offers an immediate start with potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Job description

We are looking for a casual Junior Retail Assistant to join our team in our newsagency to cover the seasonal period. (Suited to 16 years and above). We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion to learn and work in retail. Successful applicants must be flexible with hours, be available to work a minimum of 20 - 25 hours per week and up to a maximum of 38 hours per week when required. Hours will include a Monday to Saturday roster and applicant must be reliable. Rostered hours will be between the hours of 8am to 6pm. For the right candidate, this opportunity has the potential to develop into a permanent position.

Typical responsibilities of the job include:

• Sales, service and the promotion of products and services
• Process cash, credit and return transactions on sales
• Maintain shop displays and daily housekeeping requirements
• Complete Magazine and Paper Returns
