About the Role:

As a Junior Quality Engineer / Tester, you’ll help ensure our applications are reliable, highly performing, easy to use, and ready for real-world users. You’ll work alongside experienced Quality Engineers, Product Owners, Developers, Engineers, and Designers, learning how professional technology teams test, improve, and deliver high-quality digital solutions. You’ll gain hands‑on experience with testing fundamentals, quality standards, defect reporting, automation concepts, and the software development lifecycle, while continuing your studies in a supported work environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Test, Discover, and Innovate: Develop and execute test cases to help ensure applications meet solution requirements, user stories, and quality expectations. You’ll check that features work as expected and support the team in identifying opportunities to improve the user experience.
  • Learn the Basics of Quality Standards: Get hands‑on with our client's quality standards, procedures, and expectations through training and guidance. You’ll start with practical functional testing tasks, including manual testing of user interfaces and basic features, and grow your expertise from there.
  • Become a Bug Detective: Learn how to spot, document, and report bugs clearly using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. You’ll capture evidence, communicate issues effectively, and begin crafting detailed test cases based on requirements and user stories with guidance from experienced mentors.
  • Explore Automation and Performance Testing: Gain exposure to automation testing tools, frameworks, regression testing, and performance testing concepts. You’ll build awareness of how quality engineering practices support reliable technology delivery across the software development lifecycle.
  • Think Outside the Box and Grow: Use curiosity and creativity to uncover unexpected issues from a user’s perspective. You’ll seek feedback, stay open to learning, build confidence in quality engineering trends and practices, and develop professional skills in communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and problem solving.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A current student who is excited to build practical experience while continuing their studies.
  • An interest in software testing, quality assurance, quality engineering, automation concepts, technology, and solving problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn how to identify, document, and communicate issues clearly.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • A proactive attitude, curiosity, and openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning.
Additional Requirements:
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Given the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens and are eligible for obtaining security clearance. This requirement ensures that all team members are cleared to handle sensitive information and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of security in our operations.
  • On-call and Shift Expectations: This position is primarily focused on managed services, meaning you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our clients' IT systems (Applications and Infrastructure). Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may be required to work in shifts to provide continuous support. Additionally, you may need to be on call to address incidents promptly and perform after-hours deployment activities as needed. Your ability to effectively manage these responsibilities will be crucial to ensuring the seamless operation of our services and client satisfaction.
  • Must be committed to working on-site in the client office 2-3 days a week
