AWX in South-East Queensland is seeking a capable Landscaping Site Manager ready to step into a Junior Project Manager role, coordinating two to three projects and a team of around 10 staff and subcontractors.

You will balance site leadership with project planning, budgeting, client management and safety compliance, travelling between projects as required, with clear progression into project management and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Five+ years’ experience in landscape construction, with site supervision.
• Ability to read plans and schedule works.
• Commercial awareness with budgets and resource planning.
• Clear communication and client relationship skills.
• Current driver’s licence and Construction White Card.

Responsibilities

• Project planning: develop procurement schedules, budgets and resources with clear client expectations.
• Budget and cost control: monitor expenditure and forecast costs.
• Risk management: identify issues early and resolve challenges with site teams.
• Client management: act as main client contact and provide updates.
• Resource coordination: organise labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors across sites.

Junior Project Manager – Landscape Construction

Are you an experienced Landscaping Site Manager ready to take the next step into project management?

Our client is a boutique landscaping business delivering hardscape and softscape projects across schools, aged care facilities and council facilities. They are seeking a capable site leader ready to move into a Junior Project Manager role, with support and ongoing career progression.

About the Role You will manage two to three projects across South-East Queensland, coordinating approximately 10 employees, alongside subcontractors and suppliers.

Combining site involvement with project planning, financial oversight and client management, you will help deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget and to a high standard.

What You Will Do

• Project planning: Develop project plans covering procurement, schedules, budgets and resources, establishing clear expectations with clients from the outset.
• Budget and cost control: Monitor expenditure, forecast upcoming costs and address potential overruns or savings opportunities.
• Risk management: Identify issues early and work with site teams to resolve challenges before they affect delivery.
• Client management: Act as the main client contact, providing regular updates and responding promptly to concerns.
• Resource coordination: Organise labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors and suppliers across multiple sites.
• Site leadership: Support site teams, communicate priorities and maintain accountability for progress and workmanship.
• Site travel: Travel between projects across South-East Queensland as required.
• Quality and safety: Maintain quality standards and compliance with SWMS, site safety requirements and relevant regulations.
• Contract administration: Coordinate RFIs, variations, extensions of time and other project documentation.
• Reporting: Keep project schedules, budgets, site reports and client communications accurate and current.

About You You are an experienced landscaping Site Manager or Supervisor with strong leadership skills and the ambition to progress into project management.
You will bring:

• Five or more years’ experience in landscape construction, including site supervision or team leadership.
• Strong practical knowledge of hardscape and softscape construction.
• Experience coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• The ability to read plans, schedule works and manage competing priorities.
• Commercial awareness and experience contributing to budgets, cost tracking and resource planning.
• Familiarity with RFIs, variations and extensions of time.
• Clear communication and strong client relationship skills.
• A sound understanding of WHS, SWMS and quality control.
• A current driver’s licence and Construction White Card.

Previous project management experience will be highly regarded, although an established Site Manager ready to step up is encouraged to apply.
