Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Junior Process Engineer to support process engineering delivery on energy and resources projects in Brisbane. You will work under guidance to perform calculations, prepare PFDs/P&IDs, and produce technical documentation, coordinating tasks to meet project plans and quality standards.

You will develop engineering capability with a focus on safe, sustainable outcomes and engage with clients and stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Process or Chemical Engineering, with eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia or IChemE.
• Foundational knowledge of process engineering principles and a strong interest in energy, resources and industrial projects.
• Ability to apply technical skills under supervision and produce accurate, complete and well‑checked outputs.
• Strong organisation and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate inputs and deliver assigned tasks to agreed timeframes.
• Exposure to process engineering software or digital tools, such as Aspen, fluid flow modelling tools or similar platforms, is desirable.
• A proactive approach to learning, including seeking guidance, applying feedback and building technical capability through project work.
• A commitment to safe, sustainable, compliant and practical engineering outcomes, with responsible use of time and project resources.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of process engineering deliverables, including calculations, datasheets, PFDs, P&IDs and technical documentation.
• Complete allocated tasks and work items in line with project plans, agreed timeframes and quality requirements.
• Apply established engineering methods and approved tools, check your work and seek guidance where required.
• Coordinate inputs and follow up actions to support safe, timely and well‑organised project delivery.
• Identify routine issues, elevate risks appropriately and apply feedback to improve the quality and efficiency of your work.
• Support client and stakeholder interactions through clear communication, reliable delivery and timely preparation of information.
