Job summary

IXOM is seeking a Junior Process Engineer for our Botany manufacturing site to help support the safe and efficient operation of Chloralkali plants. This role offers hands-on learning, mentoring from experienced engineers, and pathways to a long-term career within a global organisation.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you’ll contribute to process safety, continuous improvement, and project delivery while gaining exposure to operations and engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Process Engineering.
• Graduate level up to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical support to operations teams and troubleshooting issues.
• Conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Supporting alarm management and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Monitoring and reporting process performance; assisting with shutdown planning.
• Maintaining P&ID drawings and supporting engineering projects.

IXOM is seeking a Junior Process Engineer to join our Botany manufacturing site, supporting the safe and efficient operation of our Chloralkali plants. About your role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting plant operations, continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects. This position offers broad exposure to process engineering, manufacturing operations, process safety and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to operations teams
• Conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
• Supporting alarm management and Management of Change (MOC) processes
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
• Monitoring and reporting process performance
• Assisting with shutdown planning and maintenance coordination
• Supporting engineering projects from planning through to implementation
• Updating and maintaining P&ID drawings
• Participating in HAZOP studies and process safety activities
• Managing quotations, purchase requests and contractor engagement activities

• A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Process Engineering
• Graduate level up to 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations or project environments will be highly regarded.
