Job summary

IXOM Port Kembla is seeking a hands-on Site Operations Leader to drive safe, compliant and efficient manufacturing and maintenance activities. You will supervise production and maintenance teams, coordinate contractor work, and uphold SHEQ standards across the site.

In this role you will run plant operations from automated control systems, blend raw materials, execute pre-start checks, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while managing priorities in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing or industrial processing environments.
• Experience leading frontline operational teams.
• Sound understanding of safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong safety-first culture across site operations.
• Coordinate daily manufacturing, terminal and dispatch activities.
• Supervise, coach and support Process Operators.
• Conduct pre-start meetings, workplace inspections and safety observations.
• Coordinate maintenance works, shutdown activities and contractor management.
• Monitor plant performance and resolve operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with permits, risk assessments and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain operational, production and quality documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Job description

Reporting to the Regional Manufacturing Lead/Site Manager, you will lead the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of our Port Kembla site. In this hands‑on leadership role, you will oversee production activities, maintenance programs, contractor management, and the day‑to‑day supervision of site personnel, while driving strong SHEQ performance across the facility. As the Process Operators do, you will be required to manufacture products, including the running of plant from using an automated control system and the blending of raw materials to produce final products

Who are we looking for?

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Current Driver's Licence.
