KBR in Australia is seeking a Junior Naval Architect to join the System Program Office team on PBS sustainment projects. Under supervision you will develop skills alongside senior naval architects, contributing to hull design, hydrodynamics and stability analyses for Navy products being supported.
You should have a Bachelor of Engineering (Naval Architecture) and be eligible for Chartered status with ITAR clearance.

Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM) The CLCM is integrated into the System Program Office (SPO) and contracted to deliver through-life asset management of Products being supported (PBS). The CLCM performs asset, sustainment and engineering functions to optimise availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and minimise risk through life of the PBS. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with Regional Maintenance Centre’s (RMC) to plan maintenance activities and installation of capability upgrades. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with the Design Services Contract (DSC) to plan and execute engineering changes and services. The CLCM delivers functions against the contract scope across the Asset Class Enterprise to support Defence Maritime Capability. The Opportunity: As a Junior Naval Architect at KBR, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical capability through working alongside experienced Senior Naval Architects and Subject Matter Experts (SME), you will receive mentorship and guidance while contributing to CLCM engineering activities across a complex maritime sustainment program. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, supporting technical activities related to structures, hull design, hydrodynamics, and stability on the Products Being Supported (PBS). You will gain valuable exposure to real-world naval architecture challenges, building your skills and confidence while contributing to engineering outcomes that support sustainment activities. Under supervision, you will develop your ability to provide risk-based technical advice and recommendations in support of the ACSSPO Principal Engineer on PBS.
