Job summary

Air Control Australia, based in Bayswater, Melbourne, seeks a motivated Mechanical Engineering graduate or near completion to gain practical exposure to the engineering, estimating and delivery of commercial HVAC and mechanical services projects in the greater Melbourne area.

You will work with experienced engineers and managers, developing skills in design calculations, tendering and project delivery, and contribute to projects from tender design through to construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or nearing completion.
• Interest in HVAC, mechanical services and construction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Practical and solutions-focused approach.
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with engineering calculations to support HVAC system design
• Assisting with HVAC load calculations and equipment selection
• Reviewing project plans and specifications and identifying relevant technical requirements
• Assisting with the preparation and review of tender submissions and quotations
• Reviewing project documentation and providing technical comments and recommendations
• Interpreting engineering and technical information and applying it to practical projects
• Assisting with engineering requirements across Design & Construct projects
• Preparing information and mark‑ups for drafting and engineering drawings
• Reviewing workshop and fabrication drawings
• Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical information and pricing
