Job summary

Binnies is seeking a Design Engineer in Brisbane to lead mechanical and structural design from first principles through to certification and client delivery. You will work on major construction, defence, utilities, marine and manufacturing projects with direct client interaction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical and/or structural design experience in a consultancy environment or similar.
• Mechanical, structural or civil engineering degree required.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks – 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
• FEA capability with Strand7, SolidWorks Simulation and/or Ansys.
• Working knowledge of Australian design standards across structural steel, concrete and loading (AS1170, AS4100, AS4991, AS1657, AS3600).
• AutoCAD or comparable CAD/CAM experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of projects from concept through to detailed design and client delivery.
• Perform design calculation, analysis, certification and review for construction projects.
• Collaborate with clients across major construction, defence, utilities, marine and manufacturing sectors.

This is your opportunity to join one of Brisbane's most technically capable engineering consultancies. A specialist mechanical and structural firm that consistently punches above its weight, delivering bespoke design solutions for some of Australia's most significant infrastructure programs, defence applications and major construction projects.

This is a role for someone who wants to do real engineering. You'll have full ownership of your projects from first principles through to detailed design, certification and client delivery across Major construction, defence, utilities, marine and manufacturing.

Problem-solve and design custom solutions across a genuinely diverse range of mechanical and structural projects - fabricated structures, access systems, temporary works for some of Australia's largest construction programs. Own your projects end-to-end, work directly with clients across a varied project portfolio, and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing your work through from concept to completion.

To be considered, you must possess:

• 5+ years of mechanical and/or structural design experience within a consultancy environment, or similar
• Mechanical, structural or civil engineering degree
• Proficiency in SolidWorks - 3D modelling and 2D drafting
• FEA capability - Strand7, SolidWorks Simulation and/or Ansys
• Sound working knowledge of Australian engineering design standards across structural steel, concrete and loading: AS1170, AS4100, AS4991, AS1657, AS3600
• AutoCAD or comparable CAD/CAM experience highly regarded
• Practical, detail-oriented outlook - client and solution focused
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency
