Job summary

Sunshine Coast Accountant in Woombye is hiring a Junior or Intermediate Accountant to support Senior Accountants. The role handles tax returns for individuals and entities, prepares financial statements, and lodges BAS/IAS while performing bookkeeping and client communication.

You will work in a small, friendly firm on the Sunshine Coast with flexible arrangements and opportunities to develop skills within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in Australian accounting/public practice
• Experience with tax returns, BAS and financial statements
• Ability to work with some autonomy and follow firm procedures

We are a small, friendly accounting firm located in Woombye on the Sunshine Coast. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to our clients while offering our team a relaxed, supportive and genuinely flexible workplace.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Junior or Intermediate Accountant to join our team and assist our Senior Accountants.

About the role

The position will involve:

• Preparing individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns
• Preparing financial statements
• Preparing and lodging BAS and IAS
• General bookkeeping and account reconciliations
• Assisting our Senior Accountants with client work
• Communicating with clients and following up required information
• Maintaining accurate records and following the firm’s systems and procedures

About you

The right person will:

• Have at least two years’ experience in an Australian accounting or public practice environment
• Be experienced in preparing tax returns, BAS and financial statements
• Be capable of completing work with a good degree of autonomy
• Have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Be friendly, approachable and genuinely client focused
• Communicate clearly and raise questions or concerns when needed
• Understand the importance of following systems, procedures and timeframes

Experience with XPM, Xero Tax & Karbon would be highly regarded.
