Job summary

Abacus Human Capital Pty Ltd is recruiting an Intermediate Accountant for a Brisbane-based boutique firm focused on mentoring and career development. You will join a friendly, motivated team and work towards CA/CPA qualifications with structured training and a personalised career plan.

You will prepare financial statements and tax returns, handle BAS/IAS, and gain exposure to diverse clients up to $50 million turnover.

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards CA, CPA, or interested in pursuing
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
• Experience preparing BAS, GST, FBT and PAYG returns
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an Australian public practice firm
• Experience with individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies
• Solid understanding of Div 7A, GST, CGT and FBT
• Experience using Xero
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Experience working with QBCC clients will be highly regarded

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements and tax returns
• Completing compliance and introduction to advisory work
• Preparing BAS/IAS
