Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring an early-career engineer to support the design, selection and delivery of applied HVAC solutions for data centres and commercial spaces. You will gain practical experience through supervision and hands-on tasks across specifications, calculations, and documentation.

You will review customer requirements, liaise with internal teams and suppliers, and contribute to project handover while learning safety, QA, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering with fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and HVAC systems.
• Strong numerical, analytical and structured problem-solving capability.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn new HVAC products, technologies and tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Excel.
• Exposure to CAD, BIM or HVAC design tools is advantageous.
• Ability to organise work, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Full Australian working rights; driving licence desirable for site travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with application, design and selection of applied HVAC equipment and system solutions.
• Review customer specifications, schedules and drawings to identify requirements, exclusions, risks and compliance gaps.
• Prepare equipment selections, technical calculations, schedules, drawings, submittals, estimates and proposals.
• Liaise with factories, product teams and suppliers regarding compliance, pricing, lead times and delivery.
• Support project handover and execution including design reviews and procurement inputs.
• Ensure documentation complies with customer requirements, standards, regulatory obligations and procedures.
