Job summary

Argon & Co is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to join the APAC Finance team. Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you will support the Senior Financial Analyst and broader finance function across Australia and New Zealand, gaining exposure to a growing global consultancy.

You will handle month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax and statutory reporting, audits and detailed financial analysis.

Qualifications

• A degree, diploma or relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline, or demonstrated progress towards one.
• Early-career experience in finance, accounting, audit, financial analysis or a similar role. Relevant graduate or internship experience will also be considered.
• An understanding of financial statements, general ledger accounting, journals, reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills, with experience using formulas, lookups and pivot tables desirable. Confidence learning accounting or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules, within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for tax and statutory obligations across the APAC region, including BAS, payroll tax, PAYG and IRD requirements.
• Support budgets, monthly reforecasts, management reporting and cash flow analysis, as well as sales pipeline, revenue, cost and project profitability analysis.
• Support year-end audit activities, responding to audit and tax queries and maintaining appropriate documentation and audit trails.
• Contribute to process improvement, finance projects and documentation, while following finance controls and escalating potential errors or issues appropriately.
