Job summary

ATCO Structures & Logistics – Luscombe QLD is seeking a Junior Design & Estimator to join our Luscombe-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to build skills in both design and estimating within the construction industry.

You will be supported by an experienced team to develop technical and commercial capabilities, with a pathway to long-term career opportunities across education, government, resources and commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• Qualification or studies in Building Design, Construction Management, Engineering, Drafting or a related discipline.
• Exposure to construction, estimating, drafting or design is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Support the development and maintenance of estimating databases and pricing information.
• Assist with design development and coordination of project documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations.
• Work closely with Design, Manufacturing and Project teams to support project outcomes.
• Learn and develop skills in Databuild, Revit and other industry systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

• Qualification or studies in Building Design, Construction Management, Engineering, Drafting or a related discipline
• Some exposure to construction, estimating, drafting or design is desirable but not essential
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to interpret technical information and drawings, or willingness to develop this capability
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Positive attitude and motivation to build a career in construction

Highly Regarded

• Exposure to Databuild or estimating software
• Exposure to Revit or BIM environments
• Previous experience in construction, manufacturing or modular building environments
• Understanding of construction methods and materials
