Job summary

Australian Ground Technologies in Sydney seeks a motivated Junior Civil Engineer to join our retaining wall team. You will assist design, planning and delivery of retaining wall projects, gaining exposure to geotechnical analyses and construction on Sydney sites.

The role suits a recent civil engineering graduate or junior engineer, with PLAXIS experience and a strong eye for detail. NSW location, full-time, on-site work with mentorship and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering degree or relevant qualification.
• 0–3 years' experience in civil or structural construction/engineering.
• Strong interest in retaining wall design and geotechnical engineering.
• PLAXIS experience and understanding of geotechnical modelling.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and engineering of retaining walls.
• Assist with geotechnical assessments and engineering calculations.
• Use PLAXIS for geotechnical modelling and analysis.
• Assist with stability analysis and retaining wall design.
• Review engineering drawings, plans and project specifications.
• Assist with site set-out, levels, measurements and inspections.
• Monitor construction activities and progress on site.
• Assist with design changes and technical queries during construction.
• Prepare and maintain engineering and construction documentation.
• Assist with QA/QC documentation and project records.
• Assist with quantities, material take-offs and progress claims.
• Check construction works against drawings and specs.
• Liaise with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Identify issues and assist with practical solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports.
