Job summary

McConnell Dowell is seeking a Junior Engineer to join the South Package of the Yan Yean Road Upgrade, based from our project office near Melbourne's northern suburbs. This graduate role offers broad exposure across design, delivery, procurement, safety and quality on a major infrastructure project.

You'll work with experienced engineers and project leaders, supporting temporary and permanent works, planning, progress tracking and collaboration across construction teams.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate (or graduating soon) with a Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Interest in traffic engineering, traffic management or transport infrastructure (highly regarded).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine passion for infrastructure and construction.

Responsibilities

• Support experienced engineers in design, coordination and delivery of temporary and permanent works solutions.
• Work with project teams to deliver construction activities safely and efficiently per project specs.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling and progress tracking to meet milestones.
• Develop commercial skills through exposure to procurement, cost control and contract administration.
• Contribute to safety, quality and environmental initiatives on the project.
• Collaborate with construction, engineering and project management professionals on a major infrastructure project.
