Harmony’s CSA Mine in Australia seeks a skilled Underground Jumbo Operator to perform safe, high-quality underground drilling as part of a production-focused team on a 7/7 roster, with residential or DIDO options.

You will conduct pre-start checks, operate jumbo rigs, interpret mine plans, and contribute to daily maintenance and reporting while upholding safety standards and teamwork. This role offers growth within a dynamic international organisation and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience operating underground jumbo drill rigs in a hard rock mining environment.
• Strong understanding of underground mining safety standards and safe work practices.
• Ability to read and interpret mine plans, drill patterns, and technical drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine inspections and minor maintenance.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Underground Jumbo Operator. As an integral part of the team, this is a key production role responsible for delivering high-quality underground drilling operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

Working on a 7/7 days & nights rotational roster, this position is available on a residential or DIDO, basis.

Duties will entail the following, however not limited to:

• Operate underground jumbo drilling rigs safely and efficiently in line with site procedures and operational requirements
• Execute drilling activities with accuracy and attention to production targets and ground support standards
• Collaborate closely with Technical Services, Planning, and Underground Operations teams to achieve daily and weekly mine plans
• Conduct pre-start inspections, routine equipment checks, and basic maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability
• Identify and report equipment faults, hazards, and operational issues promptly
• Complete accurate operational reporting and documentation to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, compliance, and team culture

• Demonstrated experience operating underground jumbo drill rigs in an underground hard rock mining environment
• Strong understanding of underground mining safety standards and safe work practices
• Ability to read and interpret mine plans, drill patterns, and technical drawings
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a remote team environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
