Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices using frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience working within the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Experience working with messaging technologies such as Kafka and ActiveMQ.
• Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases including:
• MySQL
• MongoDB
• ClickHouse
• Experience with version control and source code management tools such as Git, BitBucket, or GitLab.
• Experience working with DevOps tooling including:
• Bamboo
• Jira
• SonarQube
• Veracode
• Experience developing secure, high-performance, and scalable applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure software solutions across multiple platforms.
• Build and maintain high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable codebases.
• Develop and deploy APIs and microservices using modern development frameworks.
• Participate in software architecture, technical design, and solution planning activities.
• Review code, provide technical guidance, and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Break down business and product requirements into user stories and technical deliverables.
• Automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Support CI/CD pipeline development and continuous delivery initiatives.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application and platform issues.
• Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams to design practical solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, design artefacts, and operational support documentation.
• Research emerging technologies and contribute to innovation initiatives.
• Support system performance tuning, optimisation, and platform reliability improvements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Identify, manage, and escalate risks that may impact project delivery.
