Job summary

FinXL is seeking a Java Developer to join its Software Engineering Practice for a 12-month contract in Sydney Olympic Park. The role focuses on core Java/Spring development with exposure to Angular, Node.js, and containerization technologies in a biometrics initiative.

The ideal candidate will contribute in an agile team, support long-term programs of work, and help modernize legacy solutions while ensuring high reliability and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Java/Spring development background.
• Experience with Angular and Node.js for full-stack work.
• Python for backend scripting and automation.
• Containerization knowledge: Docker, Kubernetes, Postman.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in a fast-paced agile team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features using Java and Spring.
• Collaborate with teams to implement end-to-end features with Angular and Node.js.
• Develop scripts and microservices with Python to support core platform.
• Support containerization and deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Assist in modernizing legacy solutions into integrated biometric platforms.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and QA to ensure reliability.
