Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience as a Full Stack Java Developer.
• Proven experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, JQuery, Bootstrap, Python, R, React.
• Experience with data storage and ETL tools including Azure Databricks, DB2, SQL, Unix scripting, version control, CI tools and API tech.

Responsibilities

• Design, code and document complex programs and scripts from specifications.

• Develop estimates for development tasks and monitor progress.

Job description

Peoplebank are recruiting for a full stack Java Developer to work on a long-term program of work based in Adelaide CBD (hybrid work set up, but NOT fully remote).

Working in a collaborative, Agile environment, you will be responsible for:

• Communicate with Business Analysts and SMES to define, understand and document business requirements.
• Design, code and document complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, using agreed standards and tools, delivering well-engineered results.
• Identify and manage risks that are likely to affect delivery of system releases.
• Develop estimates of effort and duration for development tasks, monitor own progress and continually improve estimating accuracy.
• Report on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with allocated development tasks.
• Contribute technical expertise to requirements analysis to enhance the quality of solution design and to improving solution processes within the organisation.

Skills and Experience Required

Noting that we don’t expect people to have ALL of the skills listed below, the core requirement is for a Full Stack Java Developer.

• 5+ years of commercial work experience as a Full Stack developer i.e. this is NOT a Junior/entry level role
• Proven experience as a full stack developer – Java, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, JQuery, Bootstrap, Python, R, React.
• Knowledge of data storage systems such as Azure Databricks, DB2, SQL, Unix scripting, software configuration management; continuous build and integration tools; and automation tools such as SVN, Bamboo and Crucible.
• Experience using Jira
• Working in an Agile environment.
• Testing platforms like cypress or equivalent.
• ETL solutions like SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
• Knowledge of EBX and related API, SOAP, CXF, JSON etc.
