Job summary

Brunswick South Primary School, Victoria’s first Italian bilingual school, invites applications for the classroom teacher role. You will contribute to a vibrant, inclusive learning community that values student voice and high expectations.

The successful applicant will plan and teach literacy and numeracy, use data to inform practice, mentor colleagues, and support bilingual education across Range 1 and Range 2 responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy teaching.
• Experience planning with high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to bilingual education and modelling authentic language environments.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other teaching-related and organisational duties as directed by the principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties as required.
