Jones Day seeks a dedicated IT Support (Office) Specialist to assist the Firm's Australian offices with PC and peripherals, AV/VC testing, and conference room setup. You will work with the IT Department to troubleshoot hardware, install and optimize equipment, and maintain asset records across Sydney and other national offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for PCs and peripherals across Australian Jones Day offices.
  • Assemble, optimize and place PCs, printers and related equipment.
  • Enter and maintain records in IT asset tracking systems.
  • Set up and support conference rooms and assist with scheduled meetings.
  • Assist AV/VC testing as part of the AV engineering team.

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Support (Office) Specialist, in collaboration with the Firm IT Department, supports the technological needs across the Australian Jones Day offices. The IT Support (Office) Specialist provides support for personal computers and peripherals, including but not limited to troubleshooting of defective or inoperable components, diagnosis and eventual replacement of defective components and assistance of end-users in the proper use of hardware and software. The Specialist is responsible for the assembly, optimization and placement of personal computers, printers and other computer-related equipment, for the entry and maintenance of records in the appropriate Firm IT system(s) used to track technology assets and is required to help set up and support Conference rooms and assist customers with their scheduled meetings. The Specialist is required to assist the Firm AV engineering team with AV/VC and device testing when necessary. While based in Sydney, the role supports a national service delivery model and is required to travel periodically to Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth as the business requires.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in computer-related field.
  • Experience in a legal or professional services environment preferred.
  • A highly developed and practical knowledge of personal computer hardware architecture and applications, including operating systems, application software, printers and other peripherals.
  • Knowledge of major personal computer applications, including personal computer operating systems, word processing editors, graphics software, spreadsheet programs and telecommunications software.
