Job summary

Charles Sturt University Sydney, in partnership with Navitas, invites applications for a Lecturer in Information Technology to coordinate and deliver IT subjects within the School of Computing, Mathematics and Engineering at Charles Sturt University Sydney. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, student-centred learning across the BIT and MPIT courses, aligning content with learning outcomes and academic standards.

This is a face-to-face teaching position based at the Sydney campus.

Qualifications

• PhD in IT, Computer Science, Networking, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or closely related discipline with ACS or equivalent professional body membership.
• 3–5 years of post-PhD academic experience preferred in Australian universities.
• Professional experience in IT disciplines informing teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full-time teaching load across IT subjects.
• Coordinate and deliver IT courses ensuring alignment with learning outcomes.
• Provide student-centred learning across lectures, tutorials, workshops, and assessments.
• Offer mentoring, guidance, and feedback on student work.
• Contribute to curriculum development and scholarly activities.
• Promote inclusive teaching practices and engagement with diverse learners.
• Stay updated with IT trends and best practices to inform delivery.
