Job summary

Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast, QLD, seeks a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Information Technology with a focus on Artificial Intelligence to help shape and deliver the AI curriculum from 2027. You will contribute to research, teaching and industry engagement, shaping a new AI specialization within IT programs.

You will bring a PhD in AI, plus qualifications in IT/CS, with expertise in LLMs and multimodal AI, to drive innovative teaching and research while building SCU’s AI capability

Qualifications

PhD focused on Artificial Intelligence
Qualifications in IT, Computer Science or related discipline
Expertise in LLMs, multimodal AI, fine-tuning, RAG and/or agentic AI
Demonstrated teaching and research experience
Strong publications and conference outputs in AI

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver innovative AI curriculum from 2027
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate AI units
Create contemporary learning experiences across online and face-to-face modes
Contribute to AI research, publications and collaborative projects
Engage with industry and support the broader IT discipline
Build industry, professional and community connections
