• Experience with marketing, CRM, WMS or SAP desirable.
• Knowledge or experience in automotive industry desirable.

About the Role

This role is based at BYD’s Mulgrave office and will support our Headquarters Digital Solution Centre as part of the local IT team. The position will act as a key bridge between the local business, sales teams, dealers and global IT/product teams, ensuring local business requirements are clearly understood, assessed and translated into scalable digital solutions.

As a Product Engineer, this role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of digital solutions, from requirements gathering and analysis through to solution definition, development, testing, implementation and launch. The position will also ensure that local requirements are aligned with global product standards and technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Liaise with local sales teams, dealers and overseas business units to gather and analyse localized business requirements, and prepare requirement assessments, effort estimates, implementation plans and delivery milestones.

Translate business requirements into clear and structured Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories and feature backlogs, ensuring requirements are clearly communicated to global product and development teams.

Coordinate and follow up on the end-to-end product delivery lifecycle, including requirements clarification, scheduling, development, testing, implementation and launch.

Work closely with IT, product, development and business teams to identify and resolve requirements, technical and implementation issues throughout the delivery process.

Conduct market and competitive research to identify relevant digital solutions and industry practices and provide recommendations for product and system improvements.

Gather feedback from local users, sales teams and dealers, monitor product performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization.

Ensure local digital solutions are aligned with global product standards while addressing specific Australian market and business requirements.

Key requirements

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant industry experience will also be considered.

Minimum 3 years of experience in product management, product engineering, business analysis, or digital solution delivery, with experience participating in end-to-end digital projects.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both local and overseas teams.

Fluent in both English and Chinese, with the ability to use both languages as working languages.

Strong ability to understand and translate business requirements into clear and standardized product solutions.

Strong sense of responsibility, logical thinking, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Good teamwork and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and international environment.

Experience in marketing, CRM, WMS or SAP project implementation is highly desirable.

Knowledge or experience in the automotive industry is highly desirable.

Experience working with Agile methodologies is an advantage.
