Job summary

Evolve Scientific is seeking an experienced IT Automation Specialist to support automated and computerised systems within a GMP-regulated environment. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and IT to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and compliant while supporting lifecycle management.

The role requires a 3–5+ year background in IT/Automation, experience with MES/SCADA/PLC, and a proactive approach to documentation, testing, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• 3-5+ years' experience in an IT, Automation, Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, or Operational Technology role.
• Experience in regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical devices.
• Hands-on experience supporting or implementing manufacturing, automation, or computerised systems.
• Experience with MES, SCADA, PLC, Historian, LIMS, or ERP platforms is highly desirable.
• Experience delivering system upgrades, integrations, or technology projects.
• Exposure to system validation, lifecycle documentation, testing, and data integrity activities is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of GMP environments, GAMP 5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or PIC/S requirements is favorable.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the lifecycle management of automated and computerised systems across manufacturing operations

About the Role

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced IT Automation Specialist to support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical automated and computerised systems within a GMP-regulated environment. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and IT teams, you will play a key role in ensuring operational systems remain reliable, secure, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the lifecycle management of automated and computerised systems across manufacturing operations

• Hands-on experience supporting or implementing manufacturing, automation, or computerised systems
• Experience with systems such as MES, SCADA, PLC, Historian, LIMS, ERP, or similar platforms is highly desirable
• Experience delivering system upgrades, implementations, integrations, or technology projects
• Exposure to system validation, lifecycle documentation, testing, or data integrity activities will be highly regarded
• Knowledge of GMP environments, GAMP 5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or PIC/S requirements will be viewed favourably
• Strong technical troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
