Job summary

Elite Staffing Solutions is assisting a client in Melbourne South-East seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, program, commission and support industrial automation and control systems. The role is hands-on, client-facing and involves travel to various client sites across Melbourne.

You will contribute to PLC, HMI, SCADA, electrical design and systems integration projects. The candidate should have strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills, with experience across

Qualifications

• Proven experience with PLC programming across multiple brands.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Omron PLCs.
• Proficient in HMI programming.
• Experience in automation and control system design.
• Experience with industrial networks and systems integration.
• Experience in systems integrator, OEM or end-user environments.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or similar electrical design software.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
• Currently hold or willing to obtain a Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Program, upgrade and modify PLCs.
• Program and configure HMIs.
• Design automation and control systems.
• Lead PLC upgrades and automation projects.
• Design and develop control panels.
• Electrical design using AutoCAD or equivalent.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks.
• Integrate systems and commission projects.
• Troubleshoot automation systems.
• Provide technical support at client sites.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, electricians and production teams.
• Prepare technical documentation and project information.
• Ensure work meets safety, quality and client requirements.
