Amentum is appointing an ISANO Engineering Project Manager in Symonston, ACT to establish the Integrated Sensor Architecture National Office under Project AMP06006. You will plan, coordinate, govern and deliver ISANO activities, ensuring alignment with defence program governance.

Qualifications

  • Master Degree (or higher) in Project Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, MBA or related discipline.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Computer Science, Systems Science or equivalent.
  • Hold or be able to obtain recognised accreditation such as PMP/PRINCE2/MSP.
  • Demonstrated minimum of 15 years of Industry experience in Engineering or Project Management.
  • Experience managing complex engineering, systems integration, ICT, C4I or Defence projects, preferably in a military C4I environment.
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance (minimum).
  • Complete mandatory Defence or role-specific training requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and govern ISANO delivery within Project AMP06006.
  • Lead delivery management activities to establish ISANO from concept to execution.
  • Engage Defence and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance frameworks.

Role Title:ISANO - Engineering Project Manager

Role Description: The role is an Engineering Project Manager within the Modelling and Standards team to establish the Integrated Sensor Architecture National Office (ISANO) under Project AMP06006 and will be responsible for the planning, coordination, governance and delivery management activities necessary to establish the ISANO.

Mandatory Qualifications

Applicants must meet all mandatory requirements. Failure to provide evidence may result in exclusion from further evaluation.

  • Master Degree (or higher) in any of the following: Project Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration (MBA), Management Studies, or a closely related discipline relevant to the delivery of complex technology and engineering projects.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Computer Science, Systems Science or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Hold, or be able to demonstrate immediate eligibility to obtain, a recognised professional project management accreditation such as PMP, CPPM, CPPP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated minimum of 15 years of Industry experience in Engineering or Project Management, preferably in ICT environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering, systems integration, ICT, C4I or Defence capability projects, preferably in a military C4 environment.
  • Hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance (minimum), with the ability to obtain and maintain any higher clearance required by Defence.
  • Complete any mandatory Defence or role-specific training requirements.
Highly Desirable

The following criteria will be used to differentiate between candidates who satisfy the mandatory requirements:

  • Advanced project management accreditation through AIPM, PMI, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP or equivalent professional bodies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Defence systems integration, interoperability, standards implementation, architecture, verification and validation, or capability assurance projects.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects within Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), or equivalent engineering governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in Defence acquisition, sustainment, systems engineering, integration, test and evaluation, communications, ICT, battle management or C4I environments.
  • Experience managing projects involving open architectures, interoperability standards, military sensor systems, tactical communications networks, or software-enabled capability systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PMBOK, PMMv2, Agile delivery methodologies and Defence project governance frameworks.
  • Extensive experience providing strategic advice to senior Defence, APS, military and industry stakeholders.
  • Proven record of delivering complex engineering outcomes through multidisciplinary teams in high-risk or technically complex environments.
Desirable

The following criteria are advantageous but not essential:

  • Member of Engineers Australia
  • Member of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), Project Management Institute (PMI), or equivalent professional body.
  • Previous ADF service or significant Defence industry experience.
  • Experience with the Defence Capability System (DCS), One Defence Capability System, CASG governance processes, or Army capability delivery frameworks.
  • Experience managing teams comprising APS, military personnel, contractors and industry partners.
  • Experience managing engineering teams of fewer than 10 personnel across multiple locations.
  • Familiarity with Defence ICT accreditation, cyber security accreditation, and security governance processes.
  • Understanding of Defence architecture, interoperability and standards frameworks.
  • Experience supporting Army Headquarters (AHQ), CASG, CIOG, DSTG, Joint Capabilities Group, or Army capability programs.
  • Familiarity with Defence procurement, approvals, and investment governance processes.

Required Security Clearance Level: Minimum of NV1. Must be ITAR compliant
