Job summary

Rombola Family Farms is seeking an Irrigationist to manage irrigation systems across our Griffith (NSW), Bundaberg (QLD), Mataranka and Douglas-Daly (NT) sites. You will ensure crops receive the right amount of water and maintain equipment for optimal production.

Ideal candidates will have at least three years related experience, AQF Certificate I or be undertaking it, and hold a valid driver’s license. Salary ranges between $75,000 and $90,000 per year, with opportunities for growth within a

Responsibilities

• Supports maintenance activities as required.
• Ensures proper care in use and maintenance of equipment.
• Promotes workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

About the role:

Rombola Family Farms is seeking for Irrigationist for its operations in Griffith in NSW, Bundaberg in QLD, Mataranka and Douglas-Daly in the NT. The Irrigationist will play a vital role in maintaining the health and productivity of crops by ensuring they receive the proper amount of water at the right times. Their expertise in irrigation systems and water management is essential for the success of the farm's produce.

Key accountabilities include:

• Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated.
• Repairs and replaces hoses, pipes, and numerous types of sprinkler heads and fixtures.
• Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
• Replaces or repairs irrigation valves.
• Installs or repairs irrigation lines.
• May assist in various maintenance activities as required.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

• At least three years related experience and may have, or be undertaking, AQF Certificate I, or compulsory secondary education.
• Ability to install, operate, troubleshoot, and repair manual and/or computerized irrigation systems.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical systems.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures and enforce safety procedures.
• Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operate timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
• Initiative and integrity.
• Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
