Job summary

GO.FARM is seeking an Irrigation Manager to lead the irrigation and fertigation operations at the Yenda Orchard. You will develop schedules, monitor water quality and system performance, and coordinate fertiliser programs to optimise crop outcomes.

You should bring a strong background in irrigation systems within agriculture, a practical understanding of fertigation, and the ability to drive safety and efficiency in a small team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing irrigation systems within horticulture or agriculture.
• Understanding of irrigation scheduling, water management and fertigation.
• Current driver's licence and ability to operate in outdoor environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with pumps, filters and irrigation equipment.

Responsibilities

About the role:

Due to continued growth, we're looking for an Irrigation Manager to join our growing Yenda Orchard team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing orchard and help shape its future success. Working closely with the Orchard Manager, you'll oversee irrigation and fertigation operations, ensuring systems are safe, efficient and sustainable while supporting the property's continued development.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the orchard's irrigation and fertigation systems.
• Develop and implement irrigation schedules to optimise crop performance and water efficiency.
• Monitor water quality, water supply and irrigation infrastructure, ensuring systems operate safely and effectively.
• Oversee the maintenance, servicing and repair of pumps, filters, mainlines, valves and irrigation equipment.
• Monitor irrigation performance, including pressures, flow rates and system outputs, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Coordinate fertiliser application programs through the fertigation system.
• Plan inventory requirements to ensure critical irrigation parts and fertiliser are available when needed.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve irrigation efficiency, technology and operating practices.
• Work closely with the Orchard Manager to deliver production, quality and operational objectives.
• Represent GO.FARM professionally with contractors, suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Undertake other duties as required.

• Base salary between $90,000 - $110,000 per annum
• Short Term Incentive (STI) of up to 10% of your salary
