Job summary

Milliman in Sydney is seeking an Intern to support our team with investment analysis, data cleansing, and automation. You will work closely with portfolio managers and consultants to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the success of our team.

The role involves analysing data and performing modelling using Milliman’s in-house tools, with opportunities to learn across derivatives overlays, asset allocation, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in actuarial, financial mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel VBA. Knowledge of SQL, R, Python and other programming languages is a plus.
• Self-motivated with curiosity and results-oriented work ethic.
• Ability to analyse and apply creative problem solving both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Support analysis on investment ideas and data cleansing.
• Assist with day-to-day portfolio management operational tasks.
• Develop and maintain databases used by the portfolio management team.
• Assist in automation of processes used by portfolio management and actuarial teams.
• Produce modelling outcomes using Milliman’s in-house tools.
